Yikes, my posting has really slowed down over the last couple of weeks. I’m not giving up on the blog, I just haven’t felt very motivated to write lately. I’m not exactly sure why, I guess I’m just in a quiet phase of the long battle with weight and debt and nothing really noteworthy has come up lately. On the bright side, I have lots of post ideas and topics that I want to write about so I just need to sit down and get to work for a little while. That being said, I do have positive progress to report this week, so on to the good news…
Current weight: 247.2 pounds
Weight lost since starting the blog: 18.8 pounds
Progress since starting with the new scale: -6.8 pounds, -0.7% body fat, -0.9 BMI
I started last week with very little motivation and I was comfortable being lazy after finally getting over my cold. Finally I convinced myself to wake up early and exercise and I got back on track. I exercised 3 days last week, all of which came at the end of the week, but I feel re-energized and ready to keep it up again. I also did pretty well with my diet, only messing up on a few meals during the week, and overall I followed a mostly healthy meal plan. I am close to reaching the 20 pound mark so I’m going to push for that this week.
| Current Week |
Last Week |
Week Change | Start on 11/28/07 | Total Change | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weight | 247.2 | 248.6 | -1.4 (-0.56%) | 254 | -6.8 (-2.68%) |
| Body Fat | 37.5% | 37.8% | -0.3 (-0.79%) | 38.2 | -0.7% (-0.28%) |
| BMI | 31.7 | 31.9 | -0.2 (-0.63%) | 32.6 | -0.9 (-0.35%) |
*Note about this weight loss chart. When I started this blog I weighed 266 pounds and I was only tracking my pounds lost each week. On November 28, 2007 I started using a new scale that tracks body fat and more (the numbers you see above). I report the figures from that scale in these weekly posts and I still track my total pounds lost in the Weight Loss Goals section in the sidebar on my site.

Good for you!! I know how difficult it can be to get back into exercising again even after a short break. A cold wears you out and you need a break to heal and build up your strength. You got yourself motivated to start back up again…. Good for you!!! You should be proud of yourself.

I’m with Miss Shana. This is a hard time of the year to be working out and the like…it’s just not friendly. So congrats on your continued progress!

It’s tough to get back in the swing of things after the holiday season, for diets or for blog-writing! I look forward to following your progress, and I’m confident you’ll hit your goals this year. Think of it as a clean slate and get after it!

Thanks all. It has been a bit rough getting myself going again after the new year. Colds aren’t any fun either! I’m feeling good again though and I’m excited to start making progress again.

Congratz on you continuous improvement.
One thing on the body fat% on these type of scales…they are wildly inaccurate…however they are great relative monitors. In other words compared to themselves. Jumping in a bio-pod is really the only way to get accurate body-fat numbers.
