p.s. i like your blog. I can relate to the finance/losing weight thing – i just lost 40 lbs last year and am now working on finances… (although hibernation mode has set in and I’m now back up 20lbs..)

@Frugal Dad – you are right! It is so very applicable today. I wish more people were aware of it.

@wealthy_1 – I agree. Richest Man in Babylon really made the importance of saving sink in for me too. That book does such a good job of illustrating the importance of it.

@mapgirl – I hear ya. If I was at work I would have been writing sentences about ColdFusion, SQL Server, or JavaScript. Not much fun!

I love the Richest Man in Babylon. That was the book that helped me realize that I can keep the money I earn.

Thanks for the mention! I had heard about the Lincoln letter off and on for years, but only recently decided to fully investigate it myself. When I read it I was just amazed how applicable it is with today’s lazy society who just expect a handout on every corner.
