My Mile Marker - Helpful and Fun-to-use Website

My Mile Marker is a ‘Web 2.0′ styled website that helps you track your fuel costs and miles per gallon. When you sign up, you have the option to add a vehicle and once you have a fuel purchase receipt available, you are ready to get started. When you fill up the tank, just save the receipt and write your current odometer total on it. When you log on to the website, you will see an ‘add record’ form. Enter the date, odometer reading, number of gallons, and price per gallon. There are a few extra options, such as marking a recent oil change, but you only need to worry about the fuel numbers to get going.
Once you have entered two records you will start to see useful data on your main page. First, a Projections section- the default projection is one year out and it shows your projected total odometer miles and projected cost of fuel, as well as average miles per gallon. Under the Projections report is a History report. Just as you would imagine, this shows the history of the records you have added, but also shows the miles per gallon for each fill-up.
This site is free, though the developers do reserve the right to charge for it one day or perhaps add some advertising. While My Mile Marker doesn’t provide a vital service, it’s handy information to have and it may be something you are already tracking on paper or a spreadsheet, but the site makes it really easy to track and presents you with a nice, easy-to-use interface. I recommend giving it a try if you want to start tracking your fuel costs and see if you can optimize your miles per gallon.
