That is really fantastic. Our story is similar. We didn’t plan either and budgeted around $800 to include our two girls, all my neices and nephews and christmas dinner.

It sure felt good to know at the end of it that we didn’t add to our already crazy CC debt and I still managed to pay off a good deal of the debt in Decemeber.

My wife and I do exactly this – we have an ING Direct account set up with an automatic deposit amount that goes into this account twice per month – each time I get paid. It makes the holidays much more enjoyable and less stressful.
