I participated in two blog carnivals this week- The Carnival of Personal Finance #124, hosted by Millionaire Mommy Next Door and the Carnival of Debt Reduction #111, hosted by I’ve Paid For This Twice Already. Thanks to the hosts for their time and effort this week!
Here are a few of my favorite posts from the carnivals:
- Follow the white rabbit to financial freedom by Brip Blap. Brilliant post and a must read (hopefully you have seen The Matrix).
- How Did I Get Here (part 1) by TV Girl and Money. Oh, the memories…that first time you realize just how bad your financial situation is. For me, it was making a list of every single expense and realizing I was spending FAR MORE than I earned each month.
- Preventative Medicine for a More Debt-Free Lifestyle by Rocket Dollar. So where can I get those pills?
- Payments And Credit Aren’t Leading Us Anywhere Good by The Happy Rock. Yep, we (our whole culture really) need to break this cycle of buying on credit.
- Money Vs Time Off: Why We Don’t Take Vacations by The Digerati Life. Hmm…I need a vacation!

Well, at least you’re paying cash and not putting it on a credit card.

Hi, I’ve added your chart to the NCN Network page- you’ll find a link to your chart in the left-hand column and a link to your site in the right-hand column…
Thanks for joining…

PS.. As for the new laptop - I run my household business and 8 websites from a $350 refurbished Toshiba that I paid cash for - so, I think you know my answer –

Hi NCN, thanks for adding me, I will be sure to update my chart soon.
I hear ya on the laptop purchase. The problem is that I don’t want a PC. I’m done with PCs, and I never want to buy a Windows Vista machine. I do run a desktop and laptop on XP now, and they are fine, but I’m only going with Macs for the forseeable future.
If I want a cheap Mac, I need to find a used one. That isn’t entirely off the table, but I really prefer to get a computer new so I know it will be well cared for and last a long time.
We will see what happens. If/when the purchase is made I will share the details here.
